English abstract

The paper deals with the impact of the IFLA Trend Report on academic libraries. Published in 2013 the IFLA Trend Report takes a broad approach and identifies five high level trends shaping the information society, spanning access to education, privacy, civic engagement and transformation. The author analyzes each single trend to understand where academic libraries fit into a changing society, how they can play an active role both in the academia, in the society, and in the future information ecosystem
