English abstract

Research done at Mahatma Gandhi University has contributed immensely to the political social and economic development of middle Kerala. Among Indian universities it is the first university to boldly provide open access officially to the results of its research in 2008. The book Doctoral Research 1983 -2008 by R. Raman Nair and G Sreekumar documents the research work done at the university during the period and provides a bibliographical analysis of the university's contribution. The present paper is a review of the book.

മദ്ധ്യതിരുവിതാംകൂറിന്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ സാമൂഹിക സാമ്പത്തിക മേഖലകളിലെ പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് വിദ്യാഭ്യാസ രംഗത്തെ വികസനത്തിന് കഴിഞ്ഞ ഇരുപത്തഞ്ച് വര്‍ഷങ്ങളില്‍ അസാധാരണമായ സംഭാവനകള്‍ നല്‍കിയ, ഗവേഷണഫലങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള വിജ്ഞാനം തുടര്‍ ഗവേഷണത്തിനു സമൂഹത്തിനു സ്വതന്ത്രവും സൗജന്യവുമായി ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നതിനായി തുറന്നുകൊടുത്ത, മഹാത്മാഗാന്ധി സര്‍വ്വകലാശാലയില്‍ 1983 മുതല്‍ 2008 വരെ നടന്ന ഗവേഷണങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ച് അവയുടെ പ്രബന്ധങ്ങളെ ആസ്പദമാക്കി ആര്‍. രാമന്‍ നായരും, ജി. ശ്രീകുമാറും ചേര്‍ന്ന് രചിട്ടുള്ള 'ഡോക്ടറല്‍ റിസര്‍ച്ച് 1983-2008' (മഹാത്മാഗാന്ധി സര്‍വ്വകലാശാലയിലെ ഗവേഷണ പ്രബന്ധങ്ങള്‍ : ഒരു അപഗ്രഥനം) എന്ന പഠനവും വിശദമായ സൂചികയു മടങ്ങിയ ഗ്രന്ഥത്തിന്റെ നിരൂപണം.
