English abstract

Librarians are subject to many cliches and are often portrayed in fiction in a stereotypical way. But do they have glasses and buns in real life, too? Are today's librarians mousy spinsters? Librarian-related cliches in reality check.

German abstract

"Was sind das für Leute, die sich im Zenit ihrer Sturm- und Drangzeit dafür entscheiden, ein Leben lang Zettel zu sortieren, Bücher von A nach Z zu tragen und das Spatium hinter dem Punkt sehr, sehr ernst zu nehmen?", fragt sich die Autorin Krimi Buhl im Bibliothekskrimi "Eiskalte Bescherung". Eine gute Frage, der wir hier nachgehen wollen. Die Klischees Brille, Dutt, Charakter, "alte Jungfer" und Traummann Polizist werden einem Realitätscheck unterzogen.
