English abstract

This book discusses about the Information Literacy Skills : Online Information Search Strategies. The writing in this book is essentially invites the scholars both at the level of schools and universities that currently live in the Internet age to learn information literacy skills, especially in terms of online information search strategy. This paper also introduces the reader some online sites of scientific work that should be frequently accessed by students and faculty in fullfil their information needs on campus. These sites as well as a book or scientific work that we often encounter in the library, it's just a different format (digital). The online sites contains a lot of scientific information that can be accessed free of charge. The author also introduces the concept of an online library that currently developing in Indonesia. Library users can take advantage of a variety of library services easily and quickly via Internet access. At the end of the article, the author also describes the important role of librarians in promoting information literacy program to the user library. The discussion in this book include optimizing the utilization of the features of Google, Google advanced search strategies, strategies of online information evaluation, online sites of scientific papers, open access journal, digital content of Republic Indonesia National Library, and online libraries.

Indonesian abstract

Buku ini membahas mengenai Literasi Informasi : Strategi Penelusuran Informasi Online. Tulisan dalam buku ini pada dasarnya mengajak para kaum terpelajar baik pada tingkatan sekolah maupun perguruan tinggi yang saat ini hidup di zaman internet untuk mempelajari keterampilan literasi informasi khususnya dalam hal strategi penelusuran informasi online. Tulisan ini juga memperkenalkan kepada pembaca beberapa situs online karya ilmiah yang seharusnya sering diakses oleh mahasiswa dan dosen dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasi mereka di kampus. Situs-situs ini seperti halnya dengan buku atau karya ilmiah yang sering kita jumpai di perpustakaan, hanya saja formatnya yang berbeda (digital). Situs-situs online tersebut memuat banyak sekali informasi ilmiah yang bisa diakses secara gratis. Penulis juga memperkenalkan konsep perpustakaan online yang saat ini cukup berkembang di Indonesia. Pengguna perpustakaan bisa memanfaatkan berbagai layanan perpustakaan dengan mudah dan cepat melalui akses internet. Pada akhir tulisan, tak lupa penulis memaparkan peran penting pustakawan menggalakkan program literasi informasi kepada pengguna perpustakaan. Pembahasan dalam buku ini mencakup optimalisasi pemanfaatan fitur-fitur Google, strategi penelusuran lanjutan Google, strategi evaluasi informasi online, situs-situs online karya ilmiah, open access journal, konten digital perpustakaan nasional RI, dan perpustakaan online. Semoga tulisan sederhana yang penulis persembahkan ini dapat membawa manfaat bagi kita semua, Amin.
