English abstract

Scientometrics is the metric specialty that applies mathematical methods and models to discipline or knowledge domain. It therefore seeks to study examining the international scientific literature on the subject: Sugarcane and Applied Chemistry. The study aims to provide relevant information to the scientific who publishing topics related to chemistry as a discipline of knowledge. A search is performed on the database Thomson Reuters from the Web of Science in the period from 2011 to 2013. Using the bibliometric method are apply six metric indicators: index most productive authors, funders index, index of producer countries scientific communications, productivity index by research areas, index most used keywords. These indicators identify the characteristics of the scientific production of the world. The international monitoring production will contribute to update investigation themes and allowing to be indexed in databases most prestigious internationally. Consistent results are obtained the records identified are set from 3 to the first 5 results. The conclusions favor Brazil occupy the first places in terms of funders, institutions largest producers of scientific and scientific-producing nations more communications communications. The key word is used is SUGAR CANE and the remaining relate to products that can be obtained from it. The analysis has partial conclusions that show the current status and trends in research, encouraging decision making by the scientific comunity.

Spanish abstract

La cienciometría es la especialidad métrica que aplica métodos y modelos matemáticos a una disciplina o dominio del conocimiento. Se plantea como objetivo del estudio examinar la producción científica internacional sobre la temática: Caña de Azúcar y Química Aplicada. El estudio pretende brindar información relevante a los investigadores que publican temáticas afines a la Química como disciplina del conocimiento. Se realiza una búsqueda en la base de datos Thomson Reuters de la Web of Science en el período desde 2011 hasta 2013. Empleando el método bibliométrico, se aplican seis indicadores métricos: Índice de autores más productivos, Índice de entidades financiadoras, Índice de países productores de comunicaciones científicas, Índice de productividad por áreas de investigación, Índice de palabras clave más empleadas. Estos indicadores permiten identificar las características de la producción científica del orbe. La vigilancia de la producción a nivel internacional aportará información pormenorizada a los investigadores, potenciando la actualización de sus temáticas de investigación, posibilitando ubicarse en bases de datos de prestigio a nivel internacional. Se obtienen resultados en consonancia a los registros identificados, se establecen desde 3 hasta los 5 primeros resultados. Las conclusiones obtenidas favorecen a Brasil ocupando los primeros lugares en cuanto a entidades financiadoras, instituciones mayores productoras de comunicaciones científicas y naciones más productoras de comunicaciones científicas. La palabra clave más empleada es CAÑA DE AZÚCAR y las restantes se relacionan con los subproductos que se pueden obtener de ella. El análisis posee conclusiones parciales que muestran el estado actual y las tendencias de investigaciones, favoreciendo la toma de decisiones por parte de la comunidad científica.
