English abstract

A House of Poetry. - The New Literature Museum of the Austrian National Library In April 2015 the Austrian National Library opened the Literature Museum, its fourth affiliated museum in the so-called "Grillparzer House". Here in the former k.k. Hofkammerarchiv, which Franz Grillparzer had led over two decades as director, his authentic office room can still be found. The museum offers in 45 thematic and chronological stations a multimedia tour through the Austrian literature from the Age of Enlightenment to the present. In addition, it will act with a multifaceted program of events - and from 2016 also with regular temporary exhibition - as a lively meeting place for all those interested in literature.

German abstract

Im April 2015 eröffnete die Österreichische Nationalbibliothek ihr neues Literaturmuseum, das vierte der Bibliothek angeschlossene Museum im so genannten „Grillparzerhaus“. Dort befindet sich heute noch das historische Büro Franz Grillparzers, der über zwei Jahrzehnte als Direktor das ehemalige k.k. Hofkammerarchiv geleitet hatte. Das Museum bietet in 45 thematischen und chronologischen Stationen einen multimedialen Rundgang durch die österreichische Literatur von der Aufklärung bis zur Gegenwart. Daneben wird es mit einem vielfältigen Veranstaltungsprogramm - und ab 2016 auch regelmäßigen Wechselausstellungen - als lebendiger Treffpunkt für ein literaturinteressiertes Publikum fungieren.
