English abstract

The results of studies on changes in the ecosystem of information and communication in the digital age are discussed., including how to use internet and mobile phones to work, play and interact through social networks. This new environment has changed the way libraries and librarians serve their users. The need for libraries to become “nodes” of the social networks of citizens is addressed.

Spanish abstract

Se comentan resultados de los estudios realizados sobre los cambios producidos en el ecosistema de la información y la comunicación en la era digital. Cómo se usan internet y la telefonía móvil para trabajar, jugar y para interactuar a través de las redes sociales. Este nuevo entorno ha cambiado la manera en que las bibliotecas y los bibliotecarios prestan servicio a sus usuarios. Se plantea la necesidad de que las bibliotecas se conviertan en “nodos” de las redes sociales de los ciudadanos.
