English abstract

Terminological dictionary of library and information sciences is an explanatory dictionary comprising technical terms currently used in Slovene library science and practice for communication among professionals. The work of the expert team is described including the lexicographic methods and procedures for the compilation and processing of the lexicographic material. The following technical terms are presented and discussed in the dictionary: Slovene terms used in LIS, obsolete terms still of importance, common accepted jargon terms, common abbreviations and acronyms, technical terms from the fields of printing, publishing, automation, documentation, and informatics but felt strong in librarianship.

Slovenian abstract

Bibliotekarski terminološki slovar je razlagalni slovar, v katerem so zajeti tisti bibliotekarski termini ali strokovni izrazi, ki so v rabi in omogočajo komuniciranje v stroki. Predstavljena je strokovna slovaropisna skupina, prav tako leksikografske metode in postopki za zbiranje in obdelavo slovarskega gradiva. V slovarju so zajeti obdelani naslednji strokovni izrazi ali termini: slovenski bibliotekarski termini, pomembnejša zastarela poimenovanja, udomačeni žargonski izrazi, splošno rabljene okrajšave in pomembnejše kratice, strokovni izrazi s področja tiskarstva, za1ožništva, računalništva, dokumentalistike in informatike, ki močno posegajo v bibliotekarsko stroko. Slovar je dostopen v tiskani in v elektronski obliki.
