English abstract
Social media is no longer a novelty in college libraries as almost every campus library has a Twitter or Facebook account to keep the students updated and involved with the library as well as academic activities. But there are some college libraries that are really doing creative things in social media. Here is an effort in the articles to discuss the awareness of LIS professionals about what, how and why of effective use of social network and technology to reach out the users community for their academic and other educational purposes.
