English abstract

History of the Spanish Federation of Societies of Archivistics, Librarianship, Information Science and Museology (Fesabid) from its foundation in 1988 to 2005 (17 years). Joan Bravo-Pijoan, who led the initial movement towards the creation of Fesabid, tells on some previous activities, such as the Spanish Conferences on Documentation 1984 (Madrid) and 1986 (Torremolinos, Malaga), which created a favorable climate for founding the Federation. The book contains interesting experiences told by Antonio Martín-Oñate, second Fesabid's president. Among the activities of Fesabid are mainly the Conferences, celebrated every two years: in this book there are short descriptions of the 3rd (Palma de Mallorca, 1990); 4th (Gijón, 1994), 5th (Cáceres, 1996), 6th (Valencia, 1998), 7th (Bilbao, 2000) and 8th (Barcelona, ​​2003). The preparation of the 59th IFLA conference held in Barcelona in 1993 is also described. Other activities of Fesabid were the prizes, in professional and student modalities. Among the working groups standed out "Libraries and Intellectual Property".

Historia de la Federación Española de Sociedades de Archivística, Biblioteconomía, Documentación y Museística (Fesabid) desde su fundación en 1988 hasta 2005 (17 años). Joan Bravo-Pijoan, que lideró el movimiento inicial hacia la creación de Fesabid, cuenta algunas activades previas, como las Jornadas Españolas de Documentación de 1984 (Madrid) y 1986 (Torremolinos, Málaga), que fueron creando el clima propicio para fundar la Federación. El libro recoge interesantes vivencias de Antonio Martín-Oñate, segundo presidente. Entre las actividades de Fesabid están principalmente las Jornadas, celebradas cada dos años: en este libro quedan recogidas las 3as (Palma de Mallorca, 1990); 4as (Gijón, 1994), 5as (Cáceres, 1996), 6as (Valencia, 1998), 7as (Bilbao, 2000) y 8as (Barcelona, 2003). También se describe la preparación del 59 congreso de la IFLA que tuvo lugar en Barcelona en 1993. Otras activades de Fesabid fueron los premios, en las modalidades profesional y estudiante. Entre sus grupos de trabajo destacó el de Bibliotecas y Propiedad Intelectual (BPI).
