English abstract

This book is conceived as an educational material through which researchers, university professors, undergraduate and graduate students, and research assistants will be able to know (or expand their knowledge) about citation managers, so that they can be motivated to use them as research tools. Therefore, this book is not an instruction manual as it is not intended to provide instructions regarding the usage of any particular citation manager. Instead, it shows general aspects about these tools, in order to motivate its readers to make their own decisions based on their particular needs.

Spanish abstract

Este libro fue concebido como un material didáctico mediante el cual investigadores, profesores universitarios, estudiantes de pregrado y posgrado, y auxiliares de investigación podrán conocer (o ampliar sus conocimientos) sobre los gestores bibliográficos, de tal forma que puedan sentirse motivados a servirse de sus beneficios como herramientas de investigación. No se trata, por lo tanto, de un manual en tanto no pretende brindar instrucciones respecto del funcionamiento de ningún gestor en particular; en lugar de ello, presenta generalidades a la espera de motivar a sus lectores a tomar decisiones propias con base en sus necesidades particulares.
