English abstract
This article briefly exposes the evolution that WhatsApp is having in its implementation as a marketing and communication tool with the user in libraries. Throughout the present text, a comparison is made between the habitual use in public libraries and the timid reception that the university library is giving to it.
Spanish abstract
Este artículo expone brevemente la evolución que Whatsapp está teniendo en su implantación como herramienta de marketing y comunicación con el usuario en las bibliotecas. A lo largo del presente texto se realiza una compa5rativa entre el uso habitual en las bibliotecas públicas y la tímida acogida que le está dando la biblioteca universitaria.
