English abstract

In recent years, numerous studies have dealt with the transformations and constraints undergone by university libraries (UL), because of the responses to the accelerated digital environment in which we find ourselves. Starting from them, this communication will focus on reviewing the trajectory of the UL, as an educational platform of support for teaching and learning. It analyzes the transition to the CRAI model during the 1990s and the need to actualize it today with a deeper commitment to teaching and learning, at a time when libraries should demonstrate with a clear accountability the added value that they can offer. We worked with reports on university and libraries futures, like the New Media Consortium (NMC) and EDUCAUSE with its well-known Horizon reports, and other material Associaton of College and Research Libraries and the European University Association. We do this with the intention of drawing up especially relevant points of the role of support to teaching and learning from the UL.

En los últimos años numerosos estudios de prospectiva han tratado las transformaciones y los condicionantes que están experimentando las bibliotecas universitarias (BU), resultado de las respuestas al entorno digital acelerado en el que nos encontramos. Partiendo de ello, esta comunicación se centrará en revisar la trayectoria de las BU, en tanto que medio educativo de apoyo a la docencia/aprendizaje. Se analiza el tránsito al modelo CRAI durante los años 1990 y 2000, así como la necesidad de actualizar a día de hoy el compromiso con la docencia/aprendizaje, en un momento en el que las bibliotecas han de demostrar de forma más palpable su valor y aportación a la comunidad universitaria.
