English abstract

In 1998, the IFLA revolutionized the idea of an accelerated, efficient and rational cataloging, simplifying the way to find information resources. The concept, method and algorithm is named "Functional Requirements for Bibliographic Records" (FRBR) FRBR is an "object-related model" of metadata to describe information objects. To a certain extent, this means producing a piece of work through a single, distinct bibliographic record, thus FRBR constructively builds upon established cataloging standards. How do we put it into practice, will it really make it easier for both our work and consumer demand?!

Bulgarian abstract

През 1998 г. IFLA революционизира идеята за ускорено, резултатно и рационално каталогизиране, опростяващо пътя за намиране на информационни ресурси. Идеята, методът и алгоритъмът носят названието “Функционални изисквания за библиографските записи” (FRBR) FRBR е “обектно–свързан модел” от метаданни за описание на информационни обекти. До известна степен това означава представяне на произведение чрез единствен, обособен библиографски запис, като по този начин FRBR концептуално надгражда установените стандарти за каталогизиране. Как да го приложим на практика, дали наистина ще улесни както нашата работа, така и търсенето от страна на потребителите?!
