English abstract

The use of social networking websites, fixed and mobile internet, has been placed in a situation of global explosion such a degree where the user behaviour is raising some concerns in the mental health community. The article shows the attractiveness of social networks and their consequences. In order to reduce and even eliminate the disorders that sometimes cause the misuse of social networks offer some recommendations to follow, like training of network access, application of codes of conduct and codes of best practices and patterns of use.

Spanish abstract

El uso de las redes sociales a través de dispositivos conectados a Internet, tanto fijos como móviles, se encuentra en un estado de explosión global, hasta tal punto que el comportamiento de los usuarios está suscitando ciertas preocupaciones en la comunidad de salud mental. El artículo manifiesta el poder de atracción que poseen las redes sociales y sus consecuencias. Con el fin de aminorar e incluso suprimir los trastornos que ocasiona el mal empleo de las redes sociales se ofrecen unas recomendaciones a seguir, como es la formación en materia de acceso a la red, aplicación de códigos de conducta y códigos de buenas prácticas y patrones de uso.
