English abstract

The article describes the use of mobile devices, especially smartphones, the characteristics and trends of communications, both internationally and nationally. The processes that can be carried out to adapt to the mobility environment are addressed, through web design and with greater emphasis on apps. Its characteristics, specifications, principles and objectives are analyzed. In this context of mobility, apps are considered in university libraries, as an option for the diffusion of services and communication with users. Finally, the design and creation process of the JBDU app is explained, carried out in our Library for the 13a. Conference on the University Digital Library.

Spanish abstract

Se describe el uso de los dispositivos móviles, especialmente de los smartphones, las características y tendencias de las comunicaciones, tanto a nivel internacional como nacional. Se abordan los procesos que se pueden llevar a cabo para la adaptación al entorno de movilidad, a través del diseño web y con mayor énfasis en las apps. Se analizan sus características, especificaciones, principios y objetivos. En este contexto de movilidad, se consideran las apps en las Bibliotecas universitarias, como una opción para la difusión de servicios y la comunicación con los usuarios. Por último se explica el proceso de diseño y creación de la app JBDU, realizada en nuestra Biblioteca para la 13a. Jornada sobre la Biblioteca Digital Universitaria.
