English abstract

A biographical infographic is a collection of imagery journey and minimal text that gives an easy-to-understand overview of all interesting events of the life of a person. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of biographical infographic usage in the dissemination of biographies of celebrities and authors, and the rate of reading and viewing biographical infographics in social networks, especially Telegram. This research helps the publishing industry and other areas to understand the impact of infographics on content strategy and content marketing. The present study was conducted in an experimental research by using quantitative approach. In the present study, biographies of a population sample of well-known professors and professionals in the field of library and information science (LIS), as well as a population sample of poets, authors, famous people and celebrities was designed and published via the Telegram channel (@venusinfographics) for various occasions (e.g., birth, anniversary, commemoration, etc.) from November 10, 2017. The statistics of the infographics designed and presented in this study were analyzed. The findings show that among the professionals of in the field of LIS, the biographical infographic of Touran Mirhadi and Jafar Mehrad were the most viewed infographics. Among the infographics of poets, authors, famous people and celebrities, Forough Farrokhzad and Mirza Taghi Khan Farahani (Amir Kabir), were the most viewed ones. The biographical infographics or graphic visualization of biographies is intended to capture the process of life, events, chronologies, chronicle data and information of an individual from the birth to the death. Biographical infographics transmit the complex information of an individual's life from the point of view of the historical, educational, academic, political and social to the reader in a manner that is readily understood and comprehensible.
