English abstract

The current presence of Latin American journals in Web of Science and Scopus is analyzed, as the first part of a quality roadmap intended to strengthen regional publications, especially those that have started as institutional publications. The next issue will study the quality requirements and journals’ presence in other recognized indexes and platforms such as Scimago Journal and Country Rank, the Directory of Open Access Journals, Latindex, SciELO, and RedALyC.

La presencia actual de revistas Latinoamericanas es Web of Science y Scopus se analiza como la primera parte de una ruta de calidad que tiene por objetivo fortalecer las publicaciones regionales, especialmente aquellas que comenzaron como publicaciones institucionales. El siguiente número estudiará los requisitos de calidad y la presencia en revistas en plataformas e índices reconocidos como Scimago Journal y Country Rank, el Directory of Open Access Journals, Latindex, SciELO, y RedALyC.
