English abstract

After reference books and scientific journals, electronic books represent the next level of evolution in the digital revolution. Its presence in libraries and their level of knowledge on the part of users is still low. But the development of specific collections by the editors, the development of online distribution systems increasingly refining and improvements in portable reading devices (e-book readers) are causing a change in this situation, so being checked with a turnaround on the production and consumption of such documents.

Después de las obras de referencia y de las revistas científicas, los libros electrónicos representan el siguiente nivel de evolución en la revolución digital. Su presencia en bibliotecas y su nivel de conocimiento por parte de los usuarios es todavía escaso. Pero el desarrollo de colecciones específicas por parte de los editores, el desarrollo de sistemas de distribución online cada vez más aquilatados y las mejoras introducidas en los dispositivos de lectura portátiles (e-book readers) están provocando una modificación de esta situación, de tal manera que se esta verificando un cambio de tendencia con respecto a la producción y consumo de este tipo de documentos.
