English abstract
Following the methodological proposal of Applied Ethics called critical hermeneutics (Adela Cortina in 1996), the present text affirms that the solid promotion of the new communicational model of science, called Open Access, depends fundamentally on whether its contribution to the production of scientific knowledge. The primary reason for this approach is as follows: the good that is sought to be offered to society through science must basically be given in epistemological terms; and its communication, which is inherent to scientific activity, must satisfy quality criteria, which, in the specific case of article publications, generally validate the adjustment of research to the methodical procedure sanctioned by the community of scientists. Next, the article explores what is meant by scientific quality; how it is controlled is described; the link with the publications of the Engineers; and, finally, it is argued that a peculiar relationship between Open Access and scientific quality highlights the ethical status of this new way of communicating science.

Siguiendo la propuesta metodológica de la Ética Aplicada llamada hermenéutica crítica (Adela Cortina en 1996), el presente texto afirma que la promoción sólida del nuevo modelo comunicacional de la ciencia, llamado Acceso Abierto, depende fundamentalmente, de que se pueda explicitar su contribución a la producción del conocimiento científico. La razón primaria de este planteamiento es la siguiente: el bien que se procura ofrecer a la sociedad a través de la ciencia debe darse, básicamente, en términos epistemológicos; y su comunicación, que es inherente a la actividad científica, debe satisfacer criterios de calidad, que, en el caso puntual de las publicaciones de artículos, validan, en términos generales, el ajuste de las investigaciones al procedimiento metódico sancionado por la comunidad de los científicos. A continuación, en el artículo se explora qué se entiende por calidad científica; se describe cómo se la controla; el vínculo con las publicaciones de los Ingenieros; y, finalmente, se argumenta que una peculiar relación entre el Acceso Abierto y la calidad científica pone en evidencia el estatus ético de esta nueva manera de comunicar la ciencia.
