English abstract

Scientific knowledge has certain characteristics that distinguish it from other kinds of knowledge. The historicity of science also reveals certain characteristics of science, with emphasis, in this work, in the Social Sciences and Humanities. The link of librarianship with the Human Social Sciences is revealed from studies that sought this meeting between different currents of thought. Currents of thought, discussed by several authors, marking the plurality of reality seizures and approaches with librarianship. Thus, the objective is to clear the insertion of librarianship within this broader classification "Social Sciences", so that this field of knowledge can be strengthened from the theoretical and epistemological model of Social and Human Sciences. It is hoped that more work will be done in this direction to summon the theoretical and conceptual studies of the field of Librarianship in dialogue with the Social and Human Sciences.

O conhecimento científico apresenta certas características que as distingue dos demais tipos de conhecimentos. A historicidade das ciências revela, também, certas particularidades, com ênfase, neste trabalho, nas Ciências Sociais e Humanas. Objetiva-se, assim, expor de maneira sucinta a história das ciências e os aspectos que qualificam o conhecimento científico, para, posteriormente, apresentar as correntes de pensamento e algumas produções da Biblioteconomia que buscaram um enlace com as Ciências Sociais e Humanas. São múltiplas as possibilidades de diálogos da Biblioteconomia com as diversas correntes de pensamento das Ciências Sociais e Humanas. Espera-se ter contribuído para iluminar a inserção da Biblioteconomia dentro dessa classificação mais ampla de “Ciências Sociais”. Esse esforço de aproximação da Biblioteconomia com as correntes de pensamento pode fortalecer o modelo teórico-epistemológico deste campo científico. Deseja-se que mais trabalhos sejam realizados nessa direção de convocar os estudos teóricos e conceituais do campo da Biblioteconomia em diálogo com as Ciências Sociais e Humanas.
