English abstract

e implementation of the Marrakesh Treaty in Argentina offers a possibility of fundamental political action for one of the keymissions of libraries: to guarantee unrestricted access to information for citizens. In this article we offer the view of “Librarians tothe Senate” on the need to intervene in the conformation of the policies that affect the daily exercise of library activities, and weexplain the actions carried out in the campaign for the implementation of the Marrakesh Treaty in Argentina.

La implementación del Tratado de Marrakech en Argentina ofrece una posibilidad de acción política fundamental para una de lasmisiones claves de las bibliotecas: garantizar el acceso irrestricto a la información para la ciudadanía. En este artículo ofrecemos lamirada de “Bibliotecarios al Senado” sobre la necesidad de intervenir en la conformación de las políticas que afectan al ejerciciocotidiano de las actividades de las bibliotecas, y explicamos las acciones llevadas a cabo en la campaña por la implementación delTratado de Marrakech en Argentina.
