English abstract

Discusses the present status and challenges that public libraries in Dodamarg Taluka face. Public libraries are the best organizations to transmit information, knowledge to the community and keep them aware of the current developments and diverse opinions. From children to old people from farmers of professors; all use public libraries. It is an essential facility. But public libraries in Dodamarg Taluk lack even basic facilities like minimum required infrastructure and and access to Internet. The paper suggests methods improve the situation.
