English abstract

Library Automation is a technique to make a library system or process self active. Computers are the tools being used for automation and hence term computerization is also used. Due to information explosion it has becomes very difficult to manage the library activity manually. So now computers have become the most important tools in libraries. This paper discusses the concept, need and steps in library automation.
