Abstract(s)
Patents, generated around the legal protection process of inventions, constitute a basic source of information for the improvement of the research and development processes, as well as for the study of the current state of such processes in a branch of knowledge or in any socioeconomic region. The Cuban Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) is the leading institution in this field in Cuba. Its main information services, resources, investigations, etc., are dealt with.
Las patentes, generadas alrededor del proceso de protección legal de las invenciones, constituyen una fuente esencial, tanto para el avance de los procesos de investigación y desarrollo como para el estudio del estado actual de dichos procesos en una rama del conocimiento o región socioeconómica cualquiera. La Oficina Cubana de la Propiedad Intelectual es el órgano rector en esta materia en el país. Se exponen sus principales servicios de información, recursos, investigaciones, etcétera.
