English abstract

The paper is based on the attempts made in a Government Post Graduate College to revitalize the College library with student participation. Initially selected students were requested to evaluate the system and give their comments and suggestions. Based on their suggestions and further discussions the changes to be made to revitalize the system were planned. With voluntary participation of students and staff the system, which remained as inactive for decades, was raised as a live component of the campus environment within a month.
