English abstract

The paper analyses content of articles from three selected journals and categorize them into 41 subject categories according to DDC 23rd edition to identify current research trend in LIS field. Syllabi of two selected universities has been analysed in detailed to know the degree of content variations. Obsolescence rate of subject content has also been identified and an attempt has been made to draw the relationship among the research trend, research interest and curriculum design in LIS field starting from a student’s entry to the LIS course.
