English abstract

The study explores the trends of publication patterns in Library and Information Science research using bibliometric review. The areas of the Bibliometrics review are contributions of current research, use of citations, length of articles, use of illustrations, authorship patterns, geographical and chronological distribution of contributions, etc. Publications that appeared in the IASLlC Bulletin and Annals of Library and Information Studies (ALIS) during the years 2010-2014 have been taken for the study. The study found that in total contribution during the selected period ALIS is much ahead of than IASLIC Bulletin with a total of 338 personal authors appeared in it whereas IASLIC Bulletin has a total of 176 personal authors only. Also in both the journals Books' as a type of reference materials appeared highest and the subject of publication 'Digital information system' appeared in the first rank.
