English abstract

The present disquisition addressed incident factors for access to higher education, in this case in students with disabilities, which allowed representing those complex situations that emphasize monetary, social and labor characteristics of the family environment. Therefore, the objective is to identify the economic factor as a determinant for access to higher education for students with disabilities at the Technical University of Manabi. For this purpose, a non-experimental design was used, with a qualitative approach, supported by the following methods: bibliographic, analytical and descriptive; methodology that allowed fulfilling the proposed objective. Different socioeconomic characteristics involved in the research were highlighted; the interview technique was used and the interview guide directed to the Social Worker of the Inclusion Department of the Technical University of Manabí was used as an instrument, as well as a documentary analysis of research developed in the Social Work career related to disability, as well as in books and web page records. As a result, it is indicated that in the period May-October 2020 in the Technical University of Manabi there are 209 people with disabilities legally enrolled, of them in the faculty of humanistic and social sciences there are 79 students with some type of disability in its faceto-face and online modalities, of them 47 people have physical disabilities, 16 visual, 2 intellectual, 12 hearing, 1 of language and 1 of language and 1 of speech. 12 hearing, 1 language and 1 psychological.

Spanish abstract

La presente disquisición abordó factores incidentes para acceder a la educación superior, en este caso en estudiantes con discapacidad, lo que permitió representar aquellas situaciones complejas que enfatizan características tanto monetarias, sociales y laborales del entorno familiar. Por ello el objetivo plantea Identificar el factor económico como determinante para el acceso a la educación superior de los estudiantes con discapacidad de la Universidad Técnica de Manabí. Para ello se utilizo un diseño de tipo no experimental, con enfoque cualitativo, se apoyó en los métodos: bibliográfico, analítico y descriptivo; metodología que permitió cumplir con el objetivo planteado. Se resaltaron diferentes características socioeconómicas implicadas en la investigación; se utilizó la técnica de la entrevista y como instrumento la guía de entrevista dirigida a la Trabajadora Social del Departamento de Inclusión de la Universidad Técnica de Manabí, así mismo se realizó un análisis documental de investigaciones desarrolladas en la carrera de Trabajo Social relacionada a la discapacidad, así como también en libros y registros de páginas webs. Como resultado.se indica que en el periodo mayo- octubre 2020 en la Universidad Técnica de Manabí existen legalmente matriculados 209 personas con discapacidad, de ellas en la facultad de ciencias humanísticas y sociales existen 79 estudiantes con algún tipo de discapacidad en sus modalidades presencial y en línea, de ellos 47 personas presentan discapacidad física, 16 visual 2 intelectual. 12 auditiva 1 de lenguaje y 1 psicológica
