English abstract

This work aims to study the nature of information, taking as a starting point the cybernetic movement developed during the 40's and 50's of the last century. The development of this work will be carried out in two contexts: the biological, in which the materiality of information is generally considered; and philosophical, in which the notion of information is mainly linked to its conservation and transmission. In short, from these two contexts, we seek to emphasize the ontology according to which the world is ordered and organized in itself.

Portuguese abstract

Este trabalho tem como objetivo um estudo sobre a natureza da informação, tomando como ponto de partida o movimento cibernético desenvolvido durante as décadas de 40 e 50 do século passado. O desenvolvimento deste trabalho será realizado em dois contextos: o biológico, em que se considera, de maneira geral, a materialidade da informação; e filosófico, em que a noção de informação está ligada principalmente à sua conservação e transmissão. Em suma, a partir destes dois contextos, procuramos ressaltar a ontologia segundo a qual o mundo encontra-se ordenado e organizado em si mesmo.
