English abstract

Libraries are facing a process of change, technology is disrupting how we access and record information. Personal storytelling is an activity of vital importance for communities, the collection of these personal testimonies shape and reinforce group identity, as well as emphasizing heritage value, motivation and educational values. In this article we analyze the phenomenon of storitelling, its values and also some of the good practices that are being developed in the world of libraries as a unique testimonial contribution to the local, cultural heritage of people and their communities to better understand the value of their own, foster empathy and transmit local history through future generations that otherwise no one would collect.

Las bibliotecas enfrentan un proceso de cambio, la tecnología está trastocando como accedemos y registramos la información. La narración de historias personales es una actividad de vital importancia para las comunidades, la recogida de estos testimonios personales conforman y refuerzan la identidad de grupo, además de enfatizar el valor patrimonial, la motivación y los valores educativos. En este artículo analizamos el fenómeno de storytelling, sus valores y también se recogen algunas de las buenas prácticas que se están desarrollando en el mundo de las bibliotecas como una contribución testimonial única al patrimonio local, cultural de las personas y de sus comunidades para conocer mejor el valor de lo propio, fomentar la empatía y transmitir la historia local a través de generaciones futuras que de otro modo nadie recogería.
