English abstract

The concepts of dystopia and utopia are usually associated with two opposite dimensions due to their theoretical nature. In the case of the former, meanings such as negative, undesirable, chaotic, coercive and totalitarian imaginary society, configure some of the connotations on which it is based; while the latter embodies an ideal, positive, balanced, just and harmonious society, by means of social, economic, religious and political models, originated by the various utopians of the classical current, such as Plato, Moro and Johann Valentin Andreae. We will start with a review of both currents and their main authors, in order to reflect critically and interpretatively on their convergences and divergences. The implicit methodology used is situated in the field of analogical hermeneutics, in order to contribute with a theoretical interpretative contribution of social character.

Los conceptos de distopía y utopía suelen estar asociados a dos dimensiones contrarias por su naturaleza teórica. Para el caso de la primera, acepciones como sociedad imaginaria negativa, indeseable, caótica, coercitiva y totalitaria, configuran algunas de las connotaciones en las cuales se funda; mientras que la segunda encarna una sociedad ideal, positiva, equilibrada, justa y armónica, por medio de modelos sociales, económicos, religiosos y políticos, originados por los diversos utopistas de la corriente clásica, como Platón, Moro y Johann Valentín Andreae. Partiremos de una revisión de ambas corrientes y sus principales autores, para reflexionar crítica e interpretativamente sobre sus convergencias y divergencias. La metodología implícita utilizada se sitúa en el campo de la hermenéutica analógica, en aras de contribuir con un aporte interpretativo teórico de carácter social.
