English abstract

As a result of the collaboration between advisee and supervisor in the development of academic master's research, result to the present Bibliographic bibliography. Manifestation recommended to cataloging librarians, who crave an update in their field of work and studies. The publication is also placed as a bibliography indicated to the Librarianship and Information Science courses. The book focuses on cataloging instruments, notably o Resource Description and Access (RDA). Despite thematic assistance technical focus, it is a pleasure for professionals, very well systematized by addressing the relationship of principles and foundations catalogs with the proposal of the new standard – RDA, now in International. In the chapters presented, there is a mapping of the contribution of classic exercises that founded the cataloging descriptive, such as: Antonio Panizzi (Anthony Panizzi), Charles Ammi Cutter, Seymour Lubetzky, Charles Coffin Jewett, and Shiyali Ramamrita Ranganathan. Synthesis as ideas, concepts and theoretical principles mechanisms, rescuing the reader the fundamentals of cataloging Modern. The origin and evolution of cataloging codes is subject exposed, even because these resources are essential to the processes of descriptive cataloging; based on the use of codes, norms or standards that subsidize the elaboration and arrangement of bibliographic catalogues. nest topic, the Anglo-American cataloging codes (AACR, AACR2 and AACR2r); and an International Standard Bibliographic Description (ISBD).
