English abstract

A bibliometric study of the articles published in the Revista de Información Científica Journal (RIC) of the Medical University of Guantanamo corresponding to the years 2006 to 2014 was carried out, with the objective of analyzing the behavior of the scientific production of the medical community during this period. The universe was composed of all articles published in the ordinary issues of the magazine of that period and the sample was made up of the 77 published articles, which had the presence of professionals. The bibliometric indicators were used: scientific articles per year, type of article, number of authors, center of origin and educational category. Predominated the original articles. The years 2012 and 2013 were the most productive. Scientific articles predominated with five authors. The professionals of the General Teaching Hospital "Octavio de la Concepción y de la Pedraja" and those of the Branch of Medical Sciences are the ones that publish the most. Assistant teachers were the most productive.

Se realizó un estudio bibliométrico de los artículos publicados en la Revista de Información Científica (RIC) de la Universidad Médica de Guantánamo correspondiente a los años del 2006 al 2014, con el objetivo de analizar el comportamiento de la producción científica de la comunidad médica baracoense durante este período. El universo estuvo compuesto por todos los artículos publicados en los números ordinarios de la revista de ese periodo y la muestra la constituyeron los 77 artículos publicados, que tuvieron la presencia de profesionales baracoenses. Los indicadores bibliométricos utilizados fueron: artículos científicos por año, tipo de artículo, número de autores, centro de procedencia y categoría docente. Predominaron los artículos originales. Los años 2012 y 2013 fueron los más productivos. Predominaron los artículos científicos con cinco autores. Los profesionales del Hospital General Docente Octavio de la Concepción y de la Pedraja y los de la Filial de Ciencias Médicas son los que más publican. Los profesores asistentes fueron los más productivos.
