English abstract

Designing of the information retrieval system is a major technical work to provide relevant information to the information users. Though several databases use text mining technology or keyword-based techniques for abstract or text retrieval but some studies have shown the importance of a figure’s caption search and its parallel retrieval for a better understanding of an article’s contents, especially in biological sciences. In the paper, using the Web of Science database, the efficiency of the processes of assigning the weight value to the technical terms is tested. Finally, the discussion has been made about the importance of analyzing the captions of the objects presented in research articles for providing better services to the scientific community.
