English abstract
An overview of the principles, evolution and context of media and information literacy in university libraries is offered, as well as the fundamental role that professionals who work in libraries play as trainers. It is, therefore, a proposal for a synthesis of the path traveled by the media and information literacy in Higher Education, an invitation to debate and to specify actions and programs in our libraries.

Se ofrece una visión general de los principios, evolución y contexto de la alfabetización mediática e informacional en las bibliotecas universitarias, así como del papel fundamental que juegan como formadores los profesionales que trabajan en ellas. Se trata, por tanto, de una propuesta de síntesis del camino recorrido por la ALFIN / AMI en la Educación Superior, una invitación al debate y a concretar acciones y programas en nuestras bibliotecas.
