English abstract
In view of the applications of information and communication technology in processes of archival description, interoperability and cooperation between registries, there is a need to re-evaluate the internationally recognized standards of archival description. To this end, the International Council on Archives proposes Records in Contexts, a conceptual model of archival description identified as RiC-CM. Faced with the question "to what extent does the RiC-CM meet the requirements of archival description according to the public consultation of the archival community?" the general objective of the research is to explore the adherence of the RiC-CM according to the conceptual, methodological and practical aspects of the archival description indicated by the archival community and to explore the RiC-CM as specific objectives; analyze the AtoM software; evaluate the manifestations of the archival community in response to the public consultation with RiC-CM. As methodological procedures, the qualitative approach is applied, with an exploratory and descriptive purpose and uses bibliographic and documentary procedures. As a result, the RiC-CM needs a considerable amount of adjustments in the approaches to methodology, project development, inclusion, transparency, comprehensiveness and technology, although the ICA initiative proposes a fill a gap regarding the standardization of archival description be commendable. It is understood that the RiC, despite all the criticisms, is making possible a discussion about the current ICA norms and awakens to the necessity of having a standard that, at world level, meets the needs of archivists, regardless of language or country, and which aims at the application of the linked open data.

Diante das aplicações de tecnologia de informação e comunicação em processos de descrição arquivística, interoperabilidade e cooperação entre registros surge a necessidade de reavaliar os padrões de descrição arquivística reconhecidos internacionalmente. Com esse intuito, o International Council on Archives propõe o Records in Contexts, um modelo conceitual de descrição arquivística identificado como RiC-CM. Diante da questão "em que ponto o RiC-CM atende aos requisitos de descrição arquivística segundo a consulta pública à comunidade arquivística?" a pesquisa tem por objetivo geral explorar a aderência do RiC-CM conforme os aspectos conceituais, metodológicos e práticos da descrição arquivística indicados pela comunidade arquivística e percorre como objetivos específicos: explorar o RiC-CM; analisar o software AtoM; avaliar as manifestações da comunidade arquivística como resposta à consulta pública ao RiC-CM. Como procedimentos metodológicos faz-se uso da abordagem qualitativa, de natureza aplicada, com objetivos exploratórios e descritivos e faz uso de procedimentos bibliográficos e documentais. Como resultados observa-se que o RiC-CM necessita de uma considerável quantidade de ajustes nas abordagens de metodologia, de desenvolvimento do projeto, de inclusão, de transparência, abrangência e de tecnologia, não obstante a iniciativa do ICA de propor um padrão voltado para preencher uma lacuna a respeito da padronização de descrição arquivística ser louvável. Compreende�se que o RiC, mesmo com todas as críticas, está possibilitando uma discussão a respeito das atuais normas ICA e desperta para a necessidade de haver uma norma que, em nível mundial, congregue as necessidades dos arquivistas, independente da língua ou país, e que vise a aplicação do linked open data.
