English abstract

Between July 18 and August 2, the city of Guayaquil, Ecuador, hosted the First Latin American Cultural Meeting organized by the Municipal Cultural Center of that city. For Argentina, along with others, the writer Haroldo Conti, author of Around the Cage and Casa de las Américas Award winner in 1974 for his work Mascaró, the American Hunter, participated. Nuevo Hombre understood that Conti's contribution to Argentine literature makes him one of the most consistent intellectuals among those who strive for literature to be a testimonial task. That is why one of his editors interviewed the writer and together they rehearsed an evaluation of the Guayaquil experience.

Entre el 18 de julio y el 2 de agosto la ciudad de Guayaquil, Ecuador, fue sede del Primer Encuentro Latinoamericano de Cultura organizado por el Centro Municipal de Cultura de esa ciudad. Por Argentina participó, junto a otros, el escritor Haroldo Conti, autor de Alrededor de la jaula y Premio Casa de las Américas 1974 por su obra Mascaró, el cazador americano. Nuevo Hombre entendió que el aporte de Conti a la literatura argentina lo convierte en uno de los intelectuales más consecuentes entre quienes se empeñan por que la literatura sea una tarea testimonial. Por eso uno de sus redactores entrevistó al escritor y juntos ensayaron una evaluación de la experiencia de Guayaquil.
