English abstract

Amaranth Borsuk proposes an exhaustive and zigzagging journey through the history of the book organized in four chapters from which he addresses its material, experimental and conceptual aspects. The binomial writing-matter is presented as the starting point of the multiple experiences that, in one way or another, derived in the conformation of the current book. In its analysis, the transversality of two axes can be traced: on the one hand, the forms of writing, product of a complex process of transformation, linked to routines and experimentation in different cultural contexts; on the other hand, the presence of scribes, writers, readers, printers, copyists, designers, among many other trades, key figures in the past, present and future of the book.

Amaranth Borsuk propone un exhaustivo y zigzagueante recorrido sobre la historia del libro organizado en cuatro capítulos desde los cuales aborda sus aspectos materiales, experimentales y conceptuales. El binomio escritura-materia se presenta como el punto de partida de las múltiples experiencias que, de una u otra manera, derivaron en la conformación del libro actual. En su análisis se puede rastrear la transversalidad de dos ejes: por un lado, las formas de la escritura, producto de un complejo proceso de transformación, vinculado a las rutinas y la experimentación en diferentes contextos culturales; por otro lado, la presencia de los escribas, escritores, lectores, imprenteros, copistas, diseñadores, entre otros tantos oficios, figuras clave en el pasado, presente y futuro del libro.
