English abstract

The research article attempts to provide an overview of nature of LIS curriculum, the various papers for BLISc and MLISc along with the weightage given to ICT components in each paper. It further explains the sufficiency or deficiency of ICT components covered in each paper to effectively implement the ICT enhanced LIS curriculum for qualitative LIS education. Authors comment that the use and application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in LIS education and LIS curriculum is the essential requirement for bringing about qualitative change in the profession of librarianship.
