English abstract

The study discusses the importance of library websites as an effective medium for exchanging information to the users. As part of this study, the author examined number of selected academic websites to categorize the types of information available through their library websites. It is found from the study that many leading global and Indian library websites were providing the different category of information and resources and are important for not only students, but faculty, staff and citizens too. These websites are updated regularly to keep informing the users the latest developments. It is also evident that how crucial role library websites are in playing during pandemic such as Covid-19, in providing electronic services. Library are found to be providing resources, links, advice, medium of fact checking, help and even spreading peace. Even libraries with the help of 3 D printers are printing face shields for medical workers. With all these evidences emphasis the noble cause of libraries existence and proves sustainability for the future.
