English abstract

Currently, in most countries, national women's mechanisms have been created - in some, at the ministerial level - for the design and implementation of State policies that recognize the vital role of women in the development of nations, as well as to fulfill commitments on the matter. That is why the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM, now UNWomen), and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) decided to publish this Selected Compilation of the National and International Legal Framework for Women. With this publication, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs contributes to disseminating international regulations regarding women's rights and promoting, together with the relevant international organizations, a policy of the Mexican government in favor of equal rights and non-discrimination, making the enjoyment and effective enjoyment of the rights that our Constitution grants to men and women.

Spanish abstract

Actualmente en la mayoría de los países se han creado mecanismos nacionales de la mujer -en algunos con nivel ministerial-, para el diseño e instrumentación de políticas de Estado que reconozcan el papel vital de las mujeres en el desarrollo de las naciones, así como para cumplir con los compromisos en la materia. Es por ello que la Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores, el Fondo de Desarrollo de las Naciones Unidas para la Mujer (UNIFEM, ahora ONUMujeres) y el Programa de Naciones Unidas para el Desarrollo (PNUD) decidieron publicar la presente Compilación Seleccionada del Marco Jurídico Nacional e Internacional de la Mujer. Con esta publicación, la Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores contribuye a difundir la normatividad internacional en materia de derechos de las mujeres y a promover, junto a los organismos internacionales pertinentes, una política del gobierno de México en favor de la igualdad de derechos y no discriminación, que convierta en una realidad el goce y disfrute efectivo de los derechos que otorga nuestra Constitución a hombres y mujeres.
