English abstract

Introduction During the COVID-19 lockdown, educational institutions implemented online learning, revealing that some university teachers and students were not prepared for this transition. Additionally, students were unable to attend clinical preceptorship in healthcare settings. The objective of this study was to analyze the evolution of agreement-disagreement levels among obstetrics students with virtual learning and identify variables that can predict changes in opinion. Method A predictive longitudinal study was conducted using a Likert-adapted and validated survey administered to students at the beginning and end of the lockdown. Bayesian statistical analysis was performed using ordinal regression model analogs due to their advantages over frequentist methods. Results Opinions evolved from disagreement at the beginning to neutral opinions in half of the survey items at the end. It can be predicted that students will disagree with online learning when they are in their final semesters. Conclusions Agreement with teleeducation improved due to its association with multiple advantages and the computer skills acquired during this period, especially among students. However, students in their final semesters expressed disagreement with online learning, which can be attributed to the lack of clinical preceptorship with patients in healthcare settings. Digital competencies must be improved among students and teachers to take advantage of the benefits offered by online learning.

Introducción durante el confinamiento provocado por la COVID-19, las instituciones de educación implementaron el ciberaprendizaje, esta transición reveló que algunos docentes y estudiantes universitarios no estaban preparados para este cambio. Además, los alumnos fueron retirados de las unidades docentes, donde realizaban preceptoría. El objetivo fue analizar la evolución del nivel de acuerdo-desacuerdo en los estudiantes de Obstetricia con el aprendizaje virtual e identificar las variables que pueden predecir los cambios de opinión. Método estudio longitudinal predictivo, en fuente secundaria, mediante una encuesta Likert adaptada y validada, que se aplicó a los estudiantes al inicio y al final del confinamiento. Se realizó un análisis estadístico bayesiano utilizando análogos del modelo de regresión ordinal debido a sus ventajas sobre los métodos frecuentistas. Resultados las opiniones evolucionaron desde en desacuerdo al inicio hacia la opinión neutral, en la mitad de los ítems de la encuesta final. Se puede predecir que los alumnos estarán en desacuerdo con el aprendizaje en línea, cuando se encuentran cursando los semestres finales de la carrera. Conclusiones el nivel de acuerdo con la teleeducación mejoró, porque se asocia a múltiples ventajas y por las habilidades informáticas adquiridas en este periodo especialmente entre los alumnos. Los estudiantes de los semestres finales de la carrera expresaron su desacuerdo con el ciberaprendizaje, lo que se puede atribuir a la falta de tutorías clínicas con pacientes en los servicios de salud. Se deben mejorar las competencias digitales en los alumnos y los docentes, para aprovechar las ventajas que ofrece el aprendizaje en línea.
