English abstract

The paper study about the awareness, enrolment and usability of SWAYAM online learning course offered by Government of India, among the Library and Information Science professionals in the Mumbai and Thane districts, India. It also discusses the challenges faced by LIS professionals to enroll in SWAYAM Course. An online survey method was adopted to collect the data. The collected data was analysed using various parameters and found that professionals are eager to acquire knowledge through online courses platform like SWAYAM and to develop their professional skill and use these skills in the profession for the development of profession. Authors suggest the need for having a more awareness programs for enrolment in SWAYAM platform.
