In this write up the author made his personal view emphasizing the need for the enactment of the Odisha Public Library Act-2001 which is pending since last 22 years. The major issues and challenges associated with the libraries due to the delay in formation of the act also detailed. The author states that, despite the state's poor library system, the government's assurances encourage progress.
