English abstract

This article is the third piece of a course on academic writing, focusing on the importance of active reading and note-taking using the software Zotero. It emphasizes the need for conscious and deliberate engagement with specialized literature, highlighting how notes serve as indicators of critical thinking and essential tools for knowledge construction. The Zettelkasten method of annotation is presented, promoting non-hierarchical organization and interconnection of ideas, fostering critical analysis and the generation of new insights. Additionally, a taxonomy of note types is offered based on their retention time, level of reading, and technique used. The article details how to implement the Zettelkasten method in Zotero, leveraging its advanced functionalities for reading, annotation, and organization of notes, making it an integral tool for academic writers.

Este artículo es la tercera entrega del curso de escritura académica centrada en la importancia de la lectura activa y la toma de notas utilizando el software Zotero. Se enfatiza la necesidad de una participación consciente y deliberada en la lectura de bibliografía especializada, destacando cómo las notas sirven como indicadores del pensamiento crítico y herramientas para la construcción del conocimiento. Se presenta el método Zettelkasten de anotación, que promueve la organización no jerárquica y la interconexión de ideas, fomentando el análisis crítico y la generación de nuevo conocimiento. Además, se ofrece una taxonomía de tipos de notas basada en su tiempo de conservación, nivel de lectura y técnica utilizada. El artículo también detalla cómo implementar el método Zettelkasten en Zotero, aprovechando sus funciones avanzadas para la lectura, anotación y organización de notas, convirtiéndolo en una herramienta integral para escritores académicos.
