English abstract

A course organized by the Foundation for the Social Function of Communications (Fundesco) is presented, which had the following objectives: 1. To form an initial group of Documentation Database Consultants-Analysts with experience in managing an online access terminal. They belong to different degrees (Geology, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Journalism, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Economics, Philosophy, Industrial Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, and Agricultural Sciences) and specialize in files related to their field. They can initially advise on retrospective bibliographic searches and then carry them out directly. 2. To achieve greater promotional impact for online information services (teledocumentation), as clients know they will be assisted by a person in their same field. 3. Through a multiplicative effect, the Telefónica Foundation's Tele-documentation Unit acquires a much more serious, powerful, efficient, and comprehensive image for the public by having a TEAM of professionals from different branches of Science, Technology, and the Humanities. 4. By offering the highest possible quality in this type of service, other teledocumentation centers in the country will be strengthened and benefited, as promotion is carried out jointly, presenting a single image to the public. 5. The team represents a human potential that the Foundation can draw on for exhibition and demonstration consultations. 6. The trained consultants-analysts will act as "agents of change" with the role of disseminating and ensuring the extension of the services within the scientific community.

Spanish abstract

Se presenta un curso organizado por la Fundación para la Función Social de las Comunicaciones (Fundesco), que tenía estos objetivos: 1. Formar un primer grupo de Consultores-Analistas de Bases de Datos Documentales con experiencia en el manejo de un terminal de acceso on-line, que perteneciendo a diferentes carreras (Geológicas, Biológicas, Químicas, Exactas, Físicas, Periodismo, Medicina, Veterinaria, Económicas, Filosofía, Ingeniería Industrial, de Telecomunicación y Agrónoma) se especialicen en los ficheros relacionados con su campo, pudiendo en principio asesorar en las consultas de búsquedas bibliográficas retrospectivas y luego llevarlas a cabo directamente. 2. Obtener un mayor efecto promocional de los servicios de teledocumentación al saber el cliente que será atendido por una persona de su misma especialidad. 3. Por un efecto multiplicativo, la Unidad de Teledocumentación de la Fundación Telefónica adquiere una imagen de mucha más seriedad, potencia, eficacia y servicio completo de cara al publico al contar con un EQUIPO de profesionales de las diferentes ramas de la Ciencia y de la Tecnología, y Humanidades. 4. Ofreciendo la máxima calidad posible en este tipo de servicios, se verán potenciados y beneficiados los otros centros de teledocumentación del país, ya que la promoción se lleva a cabo de una forma conjunta, presentando al público una imagen única. 5. El equipo representa un potencial humano al que la Fundación puede recurrir en consultas de exhibición y demostración. 6. Los consultores-analistas formados actuarán como "agentes del cambio" con la función de difundir y garantizar la extensión de los servicios en la comunidad de científicos.
