English abstract

The selection of this document from the INIBI Archives aims to highlight its significance as a testament to institutional recognition of the work of librarians and a key moment in the history of our profession. The curated text was published on April 12, 1954, by the Association of Graduate Librarians of the Capital Federal under the title "Perón, Libraries and Librarians." This document holds special historical significance, as it marks the first time that an Argentine president publicly addressed the library community at an event of such magnitude.

La selección de este documento del Archivo del INIBI tiene el fin de otorgarle valor a su trascendencia como testimonio del reconocimiento institucional a la labor bibliotecaria y de un momento clave en la historia de nuestra profesión. El texto curado fue publicado el 12 de abril de 1954 por la Asociación de Bibliotecarios Graduados de la Capital Federal bajo el título "Perón, las Bibliotecas y los Bibliotecarios". Este documento reviste especial importancia histórica, ya que se trata de la primera vez que un presidente argentino se dirigió públicamente al colectivo bibliotecario en un evento de tal magnitud.
