English abstract

The rapid advancement of generative artificial intelligence is transforming the processes of production, evaluation, and dissemination of scientific knowledge. Tools such as language models, writing assistants, or image generators are already part of the daily work of many people who research, edit, write, or publish. In this context, and in response to the growing demand for concrete guidance from editorial teams, CAICYT-CONICET developed this Decalogue for the ethical use of artificial intelligence in scientific and academic journals. The document emerges as a response to the numerous inquiries we have received from journals in Argentina and other countries in the region, and its objective is to provide a clear, accessible, and up-to-date reference framework to support editors and editorial management teams in decision-making.

El avance vertiginoso de la inteligencia artificial generativa está transformando los procesos de producción, evaluación y difusión del conocimiento científico. Herramientas como modelos de lenguaje, asistentes de redacción o generadores de imágenes ya forman parte del trabajo cotidiano de muchas personas que investigan, editan, escriben o publican. Ante este escenario, y frente a la creciente demanda de orientación concreta por parte de equipos editoriales, desde el CAICYT-CONICET elaboramos este decálogo para el uso ético de la inteligencia artificial en revistas científicas y académicas. El documento surge como respuesta a las numerosas consultas que recibimos desde revistas de Argentina y otros países de la región, y tiene como objetivo brindar un marco de referencia claro, accesible y actualizado que acompañe a editoras, editores y equipos de gestión editorial en la toma de decisiones.
