English abstract

One of the essential tasks within all specialized library is the bibliographical selection. This one is the essential work that allows to have an alive, useful and updated bibliographical collection. In our case, the specialized libraries of women we have seen how in few years it has incessantly been increased the titles of the market that make reference to our scope. Almost all the books published on the woman corresponded to collections of public institutions (specially the Institute of the Woman of Madrid) and to some publishing house Icaria, Horas y horas, etc.

Sin duda, una de las tareas imprescindibles dentro de toda biblioteca especializada es la selección bibliográfica. Ésta es la labor esencial que permite tener una colección bibliográfica viva, útil y actualizada. En nuestro caso, las bibliotecas especializadas de mujeres hemos visto como en unos pocos años se ha incrementado incesantemente los títulos del mercado que hacen referencia a nuestro ámbito. Hasta hace poco, casi todos los libros publicados sobre la mujer correspondían a colecciones de instituciones públicas (especialmente el Instituto de la Mujer de Madrid) y a alguna editorial comprometida con la causa como Icaria, Horas y horas, etc.
